Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults & Children

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS
Age 18+ (For Individuals who have not received any sacraments of the church)
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (often abbreviated RCIA) is the process through which interested adults are gradually introduced to the Roman Catholic faith and way of life. This program begins in the Fall and continues until the candidates/catechumens receive the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist) at the Easter Vigil

CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF CHILDREN
Age 6- 17 (For Children who have not yet been baptized)
The Christian Initiation of Children (abbreviated CIC)  is a program that is designed for unbaptized children and youth (or those baptized in another faith) over the age of 6. Parents and sponsors journey with the children as they prepare for initiation into the Catholic Faith. This program begins in the Fall and continues until the children receive the Sacraments of Baptism and Eucharist at the Easter Vigil.
